If you are a student at UCL and you want to volunteer then you should join this society – it’s FREE! We are currently seeking to promote volunteering by developing new student led projects in London and perhaps overseas. We also hold regular socials, and meet on a fortnightly basis to swap ideas and support each other.

Socials

VolSoc is a place to meet like-minded people. We organized social events for UCL volunteers to make new friends, exchange experience and have fun together. Last year, the socials include a volunteers’ dinner, a movie night and a board games night. We, along with UCL volunteers from different student-led projects, are also going to play bowling, go for a picnic, team up for a Treasury Hunt and enjoy ourselves in a pub night this year.

One-off Volunteering

We gather students to participate in one-off volunteering together. You could see One-offs either as a taste of a specific project or a flexible way of getting involved in volunteering. This year, the one-off volunteering will offer you a variety of choices, e.g. Inter-Hall Challenge (Volunteer with you flatmates) and Inter-University One-offs (volunteer with students from other universities), along with what we did last year: Christmas card making, bulb planting and a tea party. All in all, VolSoc is here to help you get involved into the amazing world of volunteering.

International volunteering 

We offer suggestions on how to take part in international volunteering activities and how to apply for financial aid to do this. Once every term, we invite speakers from charities or organizations that provide international volunteering opportunities. We also plan to organize our own international volunteering. 

Volunteering Marketing Team (VMT)

The VMT, headed by our Publicity Officer and our Communication Officer, is a lively team that promotes and markets VolSoc to UCL students. It is not only a producer of our termly magazine, The Volunteer, but also a place to help you gain marketing skills, IT and social media knowledge as well as communicating with UCL students .
